I am so excited to bring you the news that my lace dress is now DONE!!! :) I am so proud of myself, but I couldn't have done it without my wonderful grandmother helping me learn to create this magnificent dress! And the best part is, it cost me only 50 dollars to make! I'm also very excited because the party I made it for is this Saturday, so I will get to show it off to my friends. :) Anyways, what do you think?
Review of my project's progress up until now:

Lace Dress (Sleeves Completed!)
Runway version by Erdem in his S/S 2011 collection:
My version!
These are the shoes I'm going to wear with the dress:
Here is the jewelry I set out also to go with my dress. I still can't decide on a purse though.
So here's my story of why I wanted to make this dress:
I was invited to a friend's quincenera 2 months ago and needed something new to wear. I've also been wanting to learn to correctly sew a dress. (I already knew how to sew, but I'de never made a dress before.) So it all fit together;learn to sew a dress, make it, and have somewhere to wear it! Now I am so happy with the product I came out with and this is going to be something that I keep for the rest of my life and maybe even pass it down through the family. What a gorgeous antique dress it will be someday! :) I just can't stop smiling every time I look at my dress hanging on my bedroom wall. Oh, I'm in love! :)
Let's look back on the dress's progress starting from day 1:
Fabric I chose.
The slip -not yet hemmed (for underneath dress so that I don't show a lot of skin.)
Lace fabric all cut out.
Grandmother trying to explain the directions to me.
Sewing in progress!
Top of dress done (sleeveless so far.)
Sleeves attached.
Skirt done, attached to top of dress.
Zipper put in.
Did the finishing touches and this is what I came out with! YAY!!! :)
