"lléveme a México, a la celebración maravilloso"

"take me to Mexico, to the wonderful celebration"

This amazing House of Holland Resort 2011 collection is stunning, wild, and quirky. It reminds me a lot of Mexico's "Day of the Dead", or "Dia de los Muertos".

"Day of the Dead" is a celebration that lasts 2 days, where families get together and celebrate life and honor the deceased. The main symbols seen at this celebration? Skulls and flowers.

Not only does this collection carry a lot of inspiration from Mexico's roots (with all the skulls, child-like floral print, and ancestral style stripes), the clothing also has a modern twist of its own (notice neon, blazer, sheer maxi). Since everyone is really into the African tribal and Aztec civilization style prints right now, I thought this would be a pleasurable new spin on that genre. Mexican ancestors' clothing -revamped and modernized.
