Yesterday while the weather was warm and sunny, I went for a little nature walk/photography hunt at my grandmother's house. I brought a paper bag with me so that I could collect some really pretty flowers that I would press later. This April weather is wonderful and the flowers are blooming! If I had to chose one favorite thing to photograph, it would be nature. It's just so pretty and delicate, and you don't have to tell it to pose a certain way. Well, enjoy the photos! :)
Here are the flowers that I pressed in between pages in a dictionary. Make sure that if you ever decide to press flowers, always put a piece of wax paper on both side-by-side pages in the book. That way your flowers don't get stuck to the paper. Also, once the book is full of all your flowers, close the book and add several books or heavy boxes to keep pressure on the book to press the flowers better. Let the flowers press for a couple days, but the longer they press the better. Give it at least a week to press. Try it out! Press some flowers someday. It's fun and the flowers are so pretty when dried and pressed. Once you let them press completely, you can use the flowers for crafts like scrap-booking or collages, or gluing onto boxes for a cute, vintage look.
P.S.-the quincenera I'm going to is tonight!!! I can't wait to show everyone at the party my lace dress that I made!!!
have fun! beautiful flowers, exquisiste lighting.
